RESUMEN: Perfil Epidemiológico Y Clínico Del Paciente Intoxicado En El Servicio De Urgencias Adultos Del Hospital General “Dr. Gaudencio González Garza” CMN LA RAZA De Los Años 2005 Al 2009. ANTECEDENTES: El Panorama De Las Intoxicaciones Es Muy Amplio Y Abarca Un Sin Número De Sustancias Potencialmente Mortales. El Sistema Nacional De Información De Salud En El Año 2007, Reportó Que Las Intoxicaciones Ocupan El Sexto Lugar De Mortalidad. OBJETIVO: Describir Las Características Clínicas Y Epidemiológicas Del Paciente Intoxicado En El SUA HG GGG (2005-2009). DISEÑO: Estudio Retrospectivo, Transversal, Observacional Y Descriptivo De Casos Clínicos. MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: Se Analizaron Los Expedientes De Pacientes Que Ingresaron Del 1ro De Enero Del 2005 Al 31 De Diciembre Del 2009. Criterios De Inclusión, Expedientes Con Diagnóstico De Intoxicación, Edad 16 Años O Mayor. Se Capturaron Los Datos Y Se Analizaron Mediante Estadística Descriptiva Con El Programa SPSS. RESULTADOS: Se Recolectaron 721 Expedientes Con Diagnóstico De Intoxicación. Encontrando Una Frecuencia De Intoxicaciones Mayor En El Año 2008. Por Género Y Edad, El Sexo Masculino (55.2%) Y El Rango De Los 27 A Los 59 Años (508 Casos), Fueron Los Más Afectados. La Intoxicación Por Medicamentos Ocupó La Mayoría De Los Casos Con 228 Casos, Correspondiente Al 32.7%. La Mortalidad Fue Del 1% (7 Casos). CONCLUSIONES: Las Características Encontradas En Este Estudio No Distan De Lo Referido En La Literatura. Es Indispensable Contar Con Un Registro Adecuado De Los Pacientes Con El Fin De Establecer Conductas De Sanidad.
ABSTARCT: Clinical and epidemiological profile of the poisoned patient in the Emergency Department Adult General Hospital "Dr. Gaudencio González Garza "CMN La Raza for the years 2005 to 2009. BACKGROUND: The picture of poisoning is very broad and covers a number of potentially fatal. The National Health Information in 2007 reported that ranks sixth poisoning mortality. OBJECTIVE: To describe the clinical and epidemiological characteristics of patients intoxicated at the SUA HG GGG (2005-2009). DESIGN: Retrospective, observational, and descriptive clinical cases. MATERIAL AND METHODS: We analyzed the records of patients admitted from January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2009. Inclusion criteria, records with a diagnosis of poisoning, age 16 or older. Data were captured and analyzed using descriptive statistics using SPSS. RESULTS: We collected 721 cases with a diagnosis of poisoning. Finding a higher frequency of poisoning in 2008. By gender and age, male sex (55.2%) and the range of 27 to 59 years (508 cases) were the most affected. Drug intoxication occupied most of the cases with 228 cases, corresponding to 32.7%. The mortality was 1% (7 cases). CONCLUSIONS: The characteristics found in this study do not differ from that reported in the literature. It is essential to have adequate records of patients to establish health behaviors.
