RESUMEN: La presente tesis aborda el tema de la responsabilidad social que tienen los gobiernos locales en México en torno a la prevención del embarazo no planeado en adolescentes. Considerando que la tasa de embarazos no deseados durante la adolescencia representa un problema de salud pública; toda vez que sus causas responden a múltiples factores tanto económicos, sociales, culturales, educativos y de salud; que consecuentemente impactan directamente en la vida futura de los padres adolescentes y del bebé. Siendo las principales consecuencias efectos adversos en la salud de la madre y el bebé, dificultad para acceder a una escolarización suficiente que les permita ampliar sus oportunidades de obtener un mejor empleo y, además aumenta la posibilidad de persistir en la pobreza. Por lo anterior, se considera que el gobierno local, siendo éste el más cercano a la gente y conociendo directamente su cultura y modo de vida; preste particular atención a generar políticas públicas transversales que promuevan la colaboración de distintos órdenes de gobierno, fundaciones, organizaciones civiles, personal educativo, y sociedad en general, a fin de promover acciones para prevenir embarazos no planeados en adolescentes. ABSTRACT: The present thesis approaches the topic of social responsibility that the local governments has in Mexico concerning prevention of the unplanned pregnancy in teenagers. Thinking about the rate of not wished pregnancies during the adolescence represents a problem of public health; although these reasons answer to multiple factors as economic, social, cultural, educational and health; that consistently affects directly the future life of the teen parents and the baby. Being the principal consequence; is the adverse effects in the health of the mother and the baby, it’s difficult to accede to enough education that allows them to extend his opportunities to get a better employment and, in addition it increases the possibility of persisting in poverty. Therefore, it is considered that the local government, being the one nearest to the people and the one knowing directly their culture and way of life; paying direct particular attention creating public transverse politics that, promote collaboration of different orders of government, foundations, civil organizations, personal education, and society, in order to promote actions to anticipate unwanted pregnancy in teenagers.
