La presente investigación se realizó en el tiradero a cielo abierto de la ciudad de Oaxaca,
que se localiza al sureste de la capital del estado, aproximadamente a 15 km por la
carretera Oaxaca-Puerto Ángel, en el Distrito de Zaachila. Dicho lugar constituye
actualmente un importante problema ambiental, debido a que allí se generan lixiviados que
se infiltran en el subsuelo. El propósito de la misma consistió en evaluar la respuesta de
dos métodos geofísicos para la identificación de zonas fracturadas y contaminadas,
empleándose dos métodos electromagnéticos, el método de Bobinas Electromagnéticas y el
método de Muy Baja Frecuencia (VLF, Very Low Frequency).
This investigation was carried out in the open landfill which is located in the southeastern
part of Oaxaca city, capital of the state. Such place constitutes an important environmental
problem at the moment due to leached products that infiltrates the underground are
generated there. The investigation purpose consisted of evaluating the result of two
geophysical methods for the identification of fractured and polluted areas using two
electromagnetic methods: the Electromagnetic Coil and the VLF (very low frequency)
method.
