ABSTRACT:
In this research we propose the application of Network Perspective in the study
of Organizational Learning Process in a service company located in Mexico
City. Network Analysis is a fundamental tool in the process of modeling
systems, specifically in this work we refer to Social Systems, which are
characterized as a kind of Complex Systems. We constructed a network and
analyzed its structure by using the software PAJEK designed by Batajelj &
Mrvar (2016). The nodes of the network represent the employees of the
company and the arches symbolize a relationship of collaborative learning.
The general purpose of this research is to prove the next hypotheses made:
The first assumption is that the structure of this network could approach the
scale-free network model under the rule of preferential attachment, the second
assumption is that the factors of aggregation in the network could be: the
experience of employees, work area, gender and hierarchy relations. We
collected data on a business unit of the organization and built the network for a
visual analysis then we report the results of the exploratory analysis of the
network. Transitivity, reciprocity and homophily analysis are made. We made a
goodness of fit test in order to determine if the network distribution actually fits
to a power law distribution and concluded that the network structure actually fits
to a scale free network. We assumed that this structure follows the preferential
attachment model. Finally we analyzed the next aggregation variables:
experience, work area, gender and hierarchy relationship.
