ABSTRACT:
In large cities there is a risk associated with the presence of the human being in natural contexts, in particular, the occurrence of seismic events, and by the interactions that exist with the developed infrastructures, because these infrastructures are interconnected, they work Sinergistically in its day-to-day operation, the seismic risk that characterizes the cities materializes with the occurrence of these events that lead to disasters. In particular, Mexico is considered one of the countries with the highest seismicity in the world. the country is in an area of high seismicity due to the interactions of 5 tectonic plates, for this reason the occurence of earthquakes is not uncommon. Chiapas, Guerrero, Oaxaca, Michoacán, Colima and Jalisco are the states with the highest seismicity and, in these states, the seismic activity originates from the interaction of the oceanic plates of Cocos and Rivera that subduces with those of North America and the Caribbean on Pacific´s coast, the states of Veracruz, Tlaxcala, Morelos, Puebla, Nuevo Leon, Sonora, Baja California, Baja California Sur and Mexico City are also affected by this same action.
The Metro Collective Transportation System (STCM) as a provider of the high-speed mass mobility service that allows the transfer of large numbers of people, is part of the critical structures of the megalopolis, not only contributes to the economy of the country of Mexico City, therefore the analysis of the seismic risk perception of its users is of great importance to contribute to the culture of impact prevention of these events. the approach to the study of seismic risk perception was considered in two phases: 1) Description and characterization by seismic risk of the system under analysis and 2) Assessment of seismic risk perception in the study population.
In the present thesis work the first phase of this approach is developed, thus, the findings obtained from a STC Metro review are present in the context of seismic emergency evacuations, that is, of the information disclosure of what to do in case of earthquake of the description and characterization of three stations of the Collective Transportation System in the context of seismic risk, namely, the Merced station (Line 1), the Hidalgo station (line 2) and the Guerrero station (Line 3). A characterization of the configurations of the study stations was carried out, critical infrastructures and vulnerability zones were identified in the evacuation process by means of the computer simulation of scenarios with the greatest number of affected agents according to the estimation obtained from the average number of users inside the train. Likewise, computer simulations of evacuation scenarios for seismic emergencies were carried out, where variations were considered in the percentages designated for the areas of fallback area and in the percentages of downloading train users to the platform during a seismic event, with the in order to evaluate the effect of them on the evacuation times of the station.
It is expected that with the results presented in this research, there will be enough elements for the future to carry out phase two, that is, the assessment of the degree of perception of seismic risk.
