Sistema de medición y monitoreo de creatinina en la sangre pre y post tratamiento de hemodiálisis

Abstract

RESUMEN: En el estudio “Epidemiología de la Insuficiencia Renal en México” dado a conocer por la Secretaria de Salud en 2010, se destaca que cada año se sumaban al menos 40,000 nuevos casos de insuficiencia renal. Sin embargo, debido a la falta de cultura de prevención, este padecimiento ha tenido un mayor crecimiento en los últimos años [1]. Los pacientes con insuficiencia renal deben someterse a tratamientos no curativos, altamente invasivos y demandantes que son muy desgastantes desde el punto de vista psicológico, físico y social. Entre los tratamientos se encuentra la hemodiálisis que debe acompañarse con toma de medicamentos, dieta estricta y restricción de líquidos [2]. Los pacientes al tener sus primeras sesiones de hemodiálisis suelen tener un desgaste mucho mayor, por lo que es importante conocer que tan efectiva es la terapia. Por ello se debe tener conocimiento de los niveles de la creatinina al principio y al final de la terapia. En el desarrollo del presente proyecto se pretende realizar un sistema Embebido comprendido por un dispositivo capaz de medir los niveles de creatinina con 3 mililitros de sangre, para pacientes con problemas renales, que se encargará de mandar dichos valores a una base de datos. Esta base de datos brindará los datos a una aplicación que sea capaz de generar reportes sobre el estado de salud del paciente y poder ayudar al médico en la toma de decisiones en la terapia de hemodiálisis. However, due to the lack of prevention culture, this condition has had a greater growth in recent years [1]. Patients with renal failure has to go through non-curative, highly invasive and demanding treatments that are very debilitating from a psychological, physical and social point of view. Among the treatments we can find: hemodialysis, which must be accompanied by medication, strict diet and fluid restriction [2]. When patients have their first hemodialysis sessions, usually, they have a greater wear, so it’s important to know how effective the therapy is. Therefore, the levels of creatinine should be known at the beginning and end of therapy. In the development of this project we intend to make an embedded system comprised of a device capable of measuring the levels of creatinine with 3ml of blood, for patients with kidney problems, which will be responsible for sending these values to a database. This database will provide data to an application that is capable of generating reports of the patient health status and to help the doctor in making decision in hemodialysis therapy.
