Abstract:
ABSTRACT: The hand is a very important member of the body in the life of the human being, so it must be in good condition. In the day to day of our activities, no person is exempt from suffering an accident that directly or indirectly affects the hand. In many cases the treatment consists of immobilization of some parts of the body causing stiffness of the hand. This document presents the design, construction and control for the implementation of an auxiliary device in rehabilitation to decrease hand stiffness. The main objective of the device is to force the fingers to perform the flexo-extension movement so that, through therapies, the user who suffers from stiffness of the hand can reduce it. To achieve this objective, the system has two mechanisms responsible for forcing the movement of the fingers, one focused on moving the thumb exclusively and the other focused on making the movement of the remaining 4 fingers. Through a mobile application, the user will be able to select the therapy mode they want to perform, the range of motion and the number of series and repetitions that make up a routine. Since heat is of vital importance to increase the flexibility of the fingers, as well as decrease pain, the system has an infrared focus that allows the hand to be heated before carrying out the therapy and the user can see the temperature through the application mobile.
