Abstract:

ABSTRACT: This document explains the development of the PET recycling plant project within the
municipality of Nextlalpan, State of Mexico. Based on the data obtained in the field
investigation of the municipality, where an average consumption of PET bottles of 259
bottles per inhabitant per year was found, with a total of approximately 13,000 bottles only
within the municipality, which no longer has a landfill in the town. Another of the support
tools was the analogous method investigation of three buildings of the same item, one
located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and the others two in Toluca, State of Mexico. It
allows an estimate of the capacity for a pet recycling plant, that plant will support eight
municipalities within a 10km radius. It will be planned on a piece of land within the
municipality as an industrial park, and for the PET plant the land will be 1.9 ha. The
concept based on the symbol of recycling, within the keywords: cycle, continuity and
recycling, the triangle is the predominant figure that will be in charge of defining the
compositional axes of the project. Three types of building are identified that are essential
for the exercise: administrative building, storage building and production building, without
complements such as services. It has a two-story administrative building with basic
services, a maintenance warehouse, an infirmary, a machine room, a dining room. Also,
two storage buildings for the raw material (PET bottles) and for the final product (PET flakes) both with their respective services and surveillance offices. The production
building, production area, test laboratory, surveillance office, services and machine room.
The last building is a garage for the vehicles of the complex. This whole building has an
area of approximately 8200m2 of surface area.
