Abstract:
ABSTRACT: Two of the relevant issues within sustainability are in agriculture and food area, involving present and future generations. The transdisciplinary methodology was used to achieve improvement within these issues. Covering in the first phase the field research, where researchers, farmers, merchants in the town of Villa Guerrero State of Mexico were involved, obtaining relevant data for research on the problems of the region in strawberry crops, covering social aspects, economic and environmental of the system. The indicators were used to evaluate different applications of biophysical methods to improve strawberry germination, planting, and quality. Among the most relevant results of the investigation, it was found that UV-C light has fungistatic applications in the sanitary and physiological quality of the strawberry in times of 2 and 5min at a light intensity (700 μW/cm2). In the strawberry seed, the application of 60 and 90s of UV-C light and 0.5g of spirulina decreases dormancy, obtaining an increase in germination. When using a magnetic field in the Fusarium Oxysporum fungus, there was a tendency to decrease the growth of the fungus with 2.5mT and 30 min. Finally, using nejayote and a magnetic field to the seeds, each one in its respective activity, a greater behavior trend was obtained in germination with 30% Nejayote and 60s and in a magnetic field at a field intensity of 3.7mT with 30 min., however, greater benefits were found when using the combination of UV-C light and spirulina in germination. The results reaffirm the idea of the application of biophysical systems to agriculture and food, as an option for the sustainability of the investigated town. The systemic approach allowed the integration of knowledge from many areas of knowledge, as well as the inclusion of society, farmers, researchers for the growth of this trend, achieving social, environmental and food benefits in the country.
