Abstract:
Cambio Aceptable (LCA). Durante 2014 a 2016, se realizaron 47 visitas para
recabar datos: 1) vida marina (363 censos visuales); 2) impactos antropogénicos
in situ (461 seguimientos turistas); 3) perfil y opinión de visitantes (297 encuestas);
434/buzos/octubre 2015; CC-Roca Partida 240/buzos/mes vs. 600/buzos/enero
ABSTRACT: The touristic activities in Natural Protected Areas (NPA), causes the need to
evaluate the impacts caused by visitors and establish quotas that regulate the
tourist influx. With this objective, diving tourism was evaluated in the Revillagigedo
National Park (RNP) and the Cabo Pulmo National Park (CPNP), using Carring
Capacity (CC) as a tool and Limit of Acceptable Change (LAC). During 2011 to
2017, 47 visits were made to collect data: 1) marine life (363 visual censuses); 2)
anthropogenic impacts in situ (461 tourist follow-ups); 3) profile and opinion of
visitors (294 surveys); 4) management capacity (2 handler surveys). The results
show that both NPAs are being used below their CC / year (CC-CPPN
250,356/divers/year vs. 5,948/ divers/2015; CC-RNP 77,600/ divers/year vs. 14,
964/ divers/2015); however, the monthly analysis shows very close or exceeded
sites of your CC (CC-Low 465/divers/month vs 434/divers/October 2015, CC-Roca
Partida 240/divers/month vs. 600/divers/January 2016). To assess the effects of
excess divers, LAC indicators are proposed, focused on three main areas: 1)
Biophysical: (damage or modification of habits in focal species); 2) Visitor
satisfaction and 3) Management capacity (management effectiveness). It is
recommended not to issue more authorizations to tour operators, as well as to
establish a permanent monitoring of the LAC indicators that allows measuring the
changes in each site and establishing mitigation measures that avoid the damage
of the natural heritage in the RNP and the CPNP.
