ABSTRACT: In this thesis, the viscoelastic behaviour of twenty textile yarns are studied. Viscoelasticity behaviour of each of these yarns was modeled trough mechanical models formed springs and dashpots (the elastic component is represented by spring and through its ehaviour will be related to the instantaneous force received by dimension variations which will be recovered when the formce is eliminated. While the dashpot describes the dimention variations which are produced during a certain period in a material, which many be during the force application or once this is eliminated; this will be related with the internal accumulated tensions wich are slowly liberated. This is done through Maxwell models, Maxwell modfied, Vangheluwe, Vangheluwe modified and finally Zurek. By correlations coefficient of the mechanical properties of the yarns and the applied models parameters are obtained.
