Impactos por la actividad tuística en los cuerpos de agua en la zona de Punta Allen, Sian Ka'an, Estado de Quintana Roo

Abstract

RESUMEN: “La Reserva de la Biosfera de Sian Ka’an es la mayor área protegida del Caribe Mexicano y ocupa aproximadamente 528 hectáreas a lo largo de 120 kilómetros de Norte a Sur, entre los municipios de Tulum y Felipe Carrillo Puerto, dentro del estado de Quintana Roo. Comprende playas, dunas, cenotes, arrecifes de coral y una selva tropical, donde habitan alrededor de 300 especies de aves, 1000 de plantas y 100 de animales” (CONANP, 2018). Sian ka’an significa “donde nace el cielo” en maya y fue declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco en el año 1987. La flora de esta reserva natural cuenta con numerosas variedades de plantas medicinales, utilizadas por las comunidades mayas de la zona. La investigación tiene como propósito determinar qué impactos tiene el turismo en una colectividad llamada Punta Allen, esta es una comunidad pesquera que a partir de la crisis económica en los 80’s comienzan a desarrollar actividades turísticas que les generan un ingreso económico. Se puede plasmar más a detalle que es un impacto turístico y sus variaciones, de esta manera se concreta a mayor detalle un análisis con respecto al área que debe de protegerse y cómo es que el turismo puede llegar a tener repercusiones ya sean económicas, socioculturales o medioambientales. Al final se podrá reflejar los efectos de las acciones actualmente llevadas a cabo, así como él porque es valioso mitigar sus efectos con acciones sostenibles. El desarrollo de la investigación es pertinente pues la mitigación de impactos generados por el turismo significaría el desenvolvimiento sostenible de las comunidades. Además, de que se busca la conservación del atractivo natural y de un sustento económico para Punta Allen.

ABSTRACT: “The Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve is the largest protected area in the Mexican Caribbean and occupies approximately 528 hectares along 120 kilometers from North to South, between the municipalities of Tulum and Felipe Carrillo Puerto, within the state of Quintana Roo. It includes beaches, dunes, cenotes, coral reefs and a tropical jungle, home to around 300 species of birds, 1000 plants and 100 different species of animals “ (CONANP, 2018). Sian ka'an means "where the sky is born" in Mayan and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1987. The flora of this natural reserve has numerous varieties of medicinal plants, used by the Mayan communities of the area. The purpose of this investigation is to determine what impacts does tourism have on a community called Punta Allen, this is a fishing community that, because of the economic crisis in the 80's, they began to develop tourist activities that generate an economic income higher than what fishing could bring. It is possible to capture in more detail what a tourist impact is and its variations, in this way an analysis is specified in greater detail considering the especifications to the area that must be protected and how tourism can have repercussions, whether economic, socio-cultural, political or environmental. In the end, it will be possible to reflect the effects of the actions currently carried out, as well as how valuable it is to mitigate their effects with sustainable actions. The development of the investigation is pertinent because the mitigation of impacts generated by tourism would mean the sustainable development of the community. In addition, that the conservation of the natural attraction and an economic support for Punta Allen.
