Abstract:
ABSTRACT: This document presents the tuning of PID type controllers of three mechatronic sys tems commonly used in industry: single, inverted and double pendulum, by means of evolutionary algorithms (Differential Evolution, Genetic Algorithm and Particle Swarm Optimization). The tuning problem was approached as a multiobjective opti mization problem, since it was intended to minimize two objectives: the error through of the Integral of the Quadratic Error (ISE) and the variations in the control signal through the Integral of the Absolute value of the control signal (IADU). The above, with the intention of obtaining an adequate compromise between the precision in the output regulation and the life time of the mechatronic system. A graphical interface programmed in Python was developed with the objective of providing the user with the possibility of performing an offline tuning. Finally, the value of the gains Kp, Ki and Kd found were implemented in a simple physical pendulum in order to validate the results obtained in simulation.
