Abstract:
ABSTRACT: This document describes the terminal work to be developed, which shows the different sections that comprise the project, such as: introduction, background, problem statement, scope of the project, development, among others.
In the project to be developed, a projection system will be designed and implemented to display the main automotive indicators (speedometer, tachometer, coolant temperature, air- fuel mixture ratio and environmental temperature) on the windshield of any vehicle with OBD II system.
The main operation of this system is achieved thanks to the Raspberry pi 3 B/B+ programmable card and the ELM327 automotive scanner. They work together via Bluetooth to obtain from the ECU of the vehicle the parameters to display on the windscreen.
In addition, there is a graphical interface programmed in Java and a local server programmed in Python, which allows both sending (local server) and receiving (graphical interface) automatic parameters obtained through the Raspberry and scanner.
Nowadays, safety and comfort systems in the automotive industry are a priority in the production of any vehicle. In spite of this, in these systems there is an exclusion between the different ranges of vehicles, being those of high range those that enjoy a greater security and a greater comfort, this is reflected in systems such as: automatic lateral mirrors, sensors and reverse chamber, automatic air conditioning system, Head-Up display system, among others. Due to this exclusion what this project seeks is to provide the driver of any vehicle with OBD II system, a system that allows to visualize in a more accessible way and without distractions the indicators of the instrument panel. Since these indicators would be deployed on the windshield, giving the driver a more efficient, comfortable, and safe driving, allowing him to monitor the parameters of the vehicle without the need for a distraction that could cause an accident, such as looking down at the instrument panel.
