ABSTRACT: This work is a research that was carried out during two semesters at the School of Engineering and Architecture, with the main objective of developing the Art Museum project, located in Santa Catarina, Nuevo Leon, which seeks to increase the cultural infrastructure of the municipality of Santa Catarina, which has been affected by the privatization of art for its inhabitants, and considering that it is one of the projects proposed within the Municipal Urban Development Program of Santa Catarina 2014-2030, this type of building was chosen, which will cover this need, and will help to promote art and culture within the municipality.
In addition to this, research was conducted for the innovation of a technology, based on an
existing one, such as concrete, which with the integration of recycled materials such as tire
rubber, and adding an additive of organic material, such as cactus mucilage, improved its
physical and mechanical properties, resulting in a new technology which can be applied in
the construction industry, and that, in this work, was applied specifically to the Art Museum
project.
The development of this technology seeks to help the environment, reducing the waste of
tires in Mexico, and giving them another use in construction. Its objective is to be applied as
structural concrete, it also seeks to reduce cracks in hardened concrete, to acquire acoustic
and thermal properties, to increase the life of concrete for structural elements with a
protection against corrosion of steel, a reduction in maintenance costs due to a waterproof
property, among others, for which different tests were performed, which allowed to prove
some of these characteristics that began as hypotheses, but these tests also allowed to
expand and modify the research due to the possibilities that the application of this technology has.
Finally, in this work you can find the methodology followed for the design of the architectural
project, taking as a guide analogous buildings, and the regulations used for the development of the executive project. As well as the cost and financing of the project. |
