Estructura socioeconómica de la comunidad de la barranca de la gloria en el Municipio de Sahuayo, Michoacán

Abstract

RESUMEN: El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar la estructura socioeconómica de la comunidad de La Barranca de la Gloria. Se recabó y analizó información económica y social de fuentes escritas y de la investigación de campo que consistió en realizar visitas frecuentes a la comunidad, lo cual permitió un gran nivel de interacción con la misma y la obtención de información de primera mano referida a sus formas de vida y producción. El proceso de la investigación fue el siguiente: i) elección del objeto de investigación; ii) recolección de fuentes de información; iii) análisis y fichado de fuentes de información; iv) recolección de datos en campo y; v) redacción. La investigación se realizó durante un año. Se encontró que la comunidad de La Barranca de la Gloria es casi autosuficiente en lo que se refiere a la producción de alimentos; que su agricultura y ganadería son de bajo rendimiento pero satisface las necesidades de los habitantes; que la recolección de frutos y la producción de mezcal cubren las necesidades económicas a lo largo de un año; que la comunidad presenta rasgos de marginación (ausencia de centros educativos funcionando en la comunidad, su alejamiento de la cabecera municipal, sus deficientes redes de comunicación, etc.). A pesar de su marginación la comunidad se ha adaptado a su entorno y mantiene una relación de respeto y uso racional de los recursos que la rodean, acompañada de la reproducción de los saberes tradicionales que pasan de generación en generación y auguran un futuro promisorio a la comunidad. ABSTRACT: The objective of this research was to analyze the socioeconomic structure of the community of The Barranca of the Glory. They was collected and analyzed economic and social information of written sources and of the field research that consisted in realizing frequent visits to the community, which allowed a great level of interaction with the same and the obtaining of information first hand referred to its forms of life and production. The process of research was the following: i) choice of the investigation object; ii) collection of information sources; iii) analysis and registered of information sources; iv) collection of data in field and whiting. The research was realized for one year. We was found that the community of The Barranca of the Glory is almost self-sufficient concerning the food production; that his agriculture and stockbreeding are of low performance but it satisfies the needs of the habits; that the harvest and the mezcal production cover the economic needs throughout one year; and the community present features of marginalization (absence of educational centers working in the community, his distancing of the municipality head, his deficient communication nets, etc.). In spite of his marginalization the community has adapted to his environ and maintained a relation of respect and rational use of the resources that surround it, accompanied of the reproduction of the traditional knowledge that passed from generation to generation and augur a promissory future to the community.
