Espacio público y ciberciudadanía, la ciudadanía a través del internet en la ciudad de Mérida

Abstract

RESUMEN: Las ciudades del siglo XXI responden a nuevos paradigmas urbanos, el crecimiento exponencial tanto de la mancha urbana como del número de habitantes parecen llevar al límite la planificación urbana. La búsqueda para encontrar la solución a estos problemas, ha llevado a mitificar el uso del Internet como la respuesta para Controlar las millones de variables que cambian constantemente en la complejidad de vida diaria de la ciudad. El desarrollo de las computadoras y la trasmisión de información por medio de estas revoluciono a la ciudad contemporánea, llevando a nuevos límites los proyectos urbanos, donde la voz de los habitantes se vuelve más presente en el éxito de dichos proyectos. Se requiere dejar a un lado la mitificación del uso del Internet, para centrar la atención en la relación hibrida entre la ciudad y la red de redes, en el entendido que las acciones que suceden en el Internet forman parte de la realidad de la urbe y que el uso de esta tecnología permite ampliar el espacio participación de sus habitantes. Analizando el impacto del uso de Internet en México y más específicamente en urbes de escala media como la ciudad de Mérida. Para comprender como el espacio público con todas sus prácticas parece haber adquirido un nuevo lugar de acción en el Internet y de esta manera dar sentido a la creación de un tipo de ciudadanía que toma forma en el ciberespacio mexicano. ABSTRACT: 21st century cities respond to new urban paradigms, the exponential growth of urban sprawl and the number of inhabitants seem to bear to limit the urban planning. The quest to find the solution to these problems, has led to mystify the use of the Internet as a response to control the millions of variables that are constantly changing in the complexity of everyday life of the city. The development of computers and the transmission of information by means of these revolutionized the contemporary city, leading to new urban projects, where the voice of the people becomes more present in the success of these projects. It is required to set aside the mythification of the use of the Internet, to focus attention on the hybrid relationship between the city and the network of networks, with the understanding that the actions that happen in the Internet are part of the reality of the city and that the use of this technology allows more room of participation of its inhabitants. Analyzing the impact of the use of the Internet in Mexico and more specifically in the cities of medium scale as the city of Mérida. To understand how public space with all their practices seem to have acquired a new place of action on the Internet and thus make sense to the creation of a kind of citizenship that takes form in Mexican cyberspace.
