ABSTRACT: In this work, thin films of semiconductor materials were deposited and evaluated as buffer or window layer in CdTe-based solar cells. ZnS, CdZnS and Cd Sn0, were deposited by the Chemical Bath Deposition (CBD) technique on soda-lime substrates with an FTO (Sn02:F). Later the thin films were characterized by Profilometry, SEM and EDS, AFM, XPS, XRD, Transmittance and Kelvin Method techniques in order to know their morphological, structural and optoelectronic properties. Thermal treatments of the films were evaluated, using different atmospheres (air, argon and oxygen) and evaporating cadmium chloride salt CdCl2. The best thermal treatment for the ZnS films, were using an oxygen atmosphere and evaporating CaCl2, with this last treatment a ternary material CdZn5 was obtained. Also, the CdZnS ternary was deposited by the CBD technique and the properties of both materials were compared. The best thermal treatment for Cd Sno, films was in air atmosphere and ecaporating CdCl2, whit this last a ternary material CdZnS was obtained. |
