Efecto de la electroacupuntura a corto plazo en hipoacusia moderada y profunda sensorial utilizando los puntos tinggong (id 19), yifeng (sj 17), waiguan (sj 5), taixi (r 3) y hegu (ig 4)

Abstract

RESUMEN: Introducción: Se entiende por hipoacusia sensorial ya sea superficial, media o profunda a la disminución de la sensisbilidad auditiva cuyo origen es multifactorial, la afeccón principal se sitúa en los cilios auditivos del órgano de Corti. Se acompaña frecuentemente de acufeno Justificación: No existe tratamiento médico actual para la hipoacusia sensorial. Objetivo General: Mejorar la audición de los pacientes con hipoacusia sensorial superficial, media o profunda. Objetivo Específico: Valorar si la electroacupuntura tiene algún efecto a corto plazo en la recuperación de la audición en la hipoacusia sensorial superficial, media y profunda. Material y métodos: Audiómetro clínico estandarizado modelo Beltone 110, Cámara amortiguadora, electroestimulador de corriente alterna modelo B4S, formatos audiométricos, historia clínica, consentimiento informado, 30 agujas de acupuntura desechables con aplicador. A cada paciente se le realizó audiometría tonal comparativa ambos oídos antes y después del estudio, con tres sesiones de electroacupuntura. Resultados: Se determinó que el efecto de la electroacupuntura en los puntos TINGGONG (ID 19), YIFENG (SJ 17), WAIGUAN (SJ 5), TAIXI (R 3) y HEGU (IG 4) en el tratamiento de la hipoacusia superficial, media y profunda, en un grupo de l3 voluntarios 9 mujeres y 4 hombres, con un promedio de edad de 62.3 y 2.8 años de evolución que fueron referidos al servicio de Audiología del Hospital General Regional No. 220 del Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social (IMSS) de la ciudad de Toluca, Estado de México en el período mayo-agosto de 2005, no obtuvieron niveles de ganancia significativos de audición superiores a los 25 decibeles posteriores al estudio, encontrando como resultado alterno disminución del acufeno. Conclusiones: La electroacupuntura a corto plazo no es una alternativa terapéutica en la mejoría de la hipoacusia neuosensorial de cualquier tipo obteniendo resultados estadísticos no significativos con una p= .5 en ambos oídos; sin embargo existió efecto significativo en la mejora del acufeno a corto plazo con un p= 0.001 en ambos oídos.

ABSTRACT: Introduction : It is understood by sensorial or superficial, average or deep hypoacusis to the diminution of the auditory sensitivity whose origin is multifactorial, the main affection is located in the auditory cilia of the organ of Corti. It is accompanied frequently by acufeno. Justification: Present medical treatment for sensorial hypoacusis does not exist. General mission: To improve hearing of the patients with sensorial superficial hypoacusis, average or deep. Specific Objective: To value if the electroacupuncture has some short term effect in the recovery of hearing in hypoacusis sensorial superficial, average and deep hypoacusis. Material and methods: Clinical audiometer standardized model Beltone 110, cushioning Camera, electro stimulative of alternating current model B4S, audiometrics formats, clinical history, informed consent, 30 disposable needles of acupuncture with applicator. To each patient comparative pitch audiometry was made to him before both ears and after the study, with three sessions of electroacupuncture. Results: One determined that the effect of the electroacupuncture in the TINGGONG points (SI 19), YIFENG (TW 17), WAIGUAN (TW 5), TAIXI (K 3) and HEGU (LI 4) in the treatment of superficial hypoacusis, average and deep, in a voluntary group of l3 9 women and 4 men, with an average of age of 62,3 and 2,8 years of evolution that were referred the service of Audiology of the General Hospital Regional no. 220 of the Mexican Institute of Seguro Social (IMSS) of the city of Toluca, State of Mexico in the period May-August of 2005, did not obtain significant levels of gain of hearing superior to the 25. Conclusions: The electroacupuncture in the short term is not a therapeutic alternative in the improvement of neurosensorial hypoacusis of any type obtaining nonsignificant statistical results with one p = 5 in both ears; nevertheless p = 0,001 in both ears existed significant effect in the improvement of the short term acufeno.
