Abstract: The present case study was conducted to examine the processes of tutoring from the theoretical framework of organizational culture, governance and educational innovation. It aimed to characterize the organizational culture of the tutorial processes of the Technological National of Mexico (TecNM), to provide elements of improvement in the Institutional Tutoring Program (PIT) of the Technological Institute of Higher Studies of Chalco (TESCHA) and the Technological Institute Superior of Huichapan (ITESHU);being these two technological institutes our study cases, whose PIT is necessary to improve to renew the aspects of attention and accompaniment in the training of the student. In order to have a complete perspective of the problem, the students observed the situations observed in the TESCHA about the tutoring processes, considering also two previous investigations carried out there, the students' perceptions regarding the tutoring processes and a review of the literature included five undergraduate theses. We used a qualitative approach and an approach to the methodology of grounded theory; the units of analysis were the teachers, the tutors and the coordinators who were interviewed, as key players in the tutoring processes. The study period comprised the 2016-1 and 2016-2 cycles and the instrument used for the collection and analysis was the semi-structured interview, in person and online via the Internet. The study consisted of three moments: (1) construction of contextual and theoretical frameworks; (2) field research; (3) analysis and discussion of results. We developed with these elements a new research that provided the basis for a description of elements and observable products of the organizational culture of the tutoring processes of TESCHA and ITESHU, to make proposals for improvement in these processes.
Abstract.
The present case study was conducted to examine the processes of tutoring from
the theoretical framework of organizational culture, governance and educational
innovation. It aimed to characterize the organizational culture of the tutorial
processes of the Technological National of Mexico (TecNM), to provide elements
of improvement in the Institutional Tutoring Program (PIT) of the Technological
Institute of Higher Studies of Chalco (TESCHA) and the Technological Institute
Superior of Huichapan (ITESHU);being these two technological institutes our study
cases, whose PIT is necessary to improve to renew the aspects of attention and
accompaniment in the training of the student.
In order to have a complete perspective of the problem, the students observed the
situations observed in the TESCHA about the tutoring processes, considering also
two previous investigations carried out there, the students' perceptions regarding
the tutoring processes and a review of the literature included five undergraduate
theses.
We used a qualitative approach and an approach to the methodology of grounded
theory; the units of analysis were the teachers, the tutors and the coordinators who
were interviewed, as key players in the tutoring processes. The study period
comprised the 2016-1 and 2016-2 cycles and the instrument used for the collection
and analysis was the semi-structured interview, in person and online via the
Internet. The study consisted of three moments: (1) construction of contextual and
theoretical frameworks; (2) field research; (3) analysis and discussion of results.
We developed with these elements a new research that provided the basis for a
description of elements and observable products of the organizational culture of
the tutoring processes of TESCHA and ITESHU, to make proposals for
improvement in these processes.
