ABSTRACT: The Schrödinger operators with point interactions have been of great interest in the mathematical physics during the last decades due to their applications in quantum mechanics, electrodynamics, optics, etc..
In this thesis we perform a mathematical analysis on the free of units one-dimensional Schrödinger operator with a potential specified formally by a singular potential and regular real-valued potential. The singular potential is represented by distributions of the first order, given in terms of Dirac deltas and their first derivatives. In particular we consider N point interactions located at the points h1,…,hN. Associated with the formal operator there exists a unbounded Schrödinger self-adjoint operator that consists on only the regular potential and certain boundary conditions specified at the points where the interactions are located. These boundary conditions are expressed in a matrix form in terms of the values that takes the solution and its derivative from the left and the right of the interaction points hi. The operator thus specified is considered in the Hilbert space L2(R) =L2(R{h1,…,hN}) so that the eigenfunctions and their corresponding eigenvalues can be determined by means of a matrix recursive method. In particular, by the use of monodromy matrices a dispersion relation (i.e., characteristic equation) of the corresponding spectral problem is obtained. On the other hand, the analysis is general enough to consider a compact support bounded potential and for the calculation of the monodromy matrices by means of the Spectral Parameter Power Series Method (SPPSmethod for short). For the numerical calculations and the corresponding computational implementation we use Wolfram Mathematica.
