Abstract:
ABSTRACT: This paper describes the seismic, petrophysical and geostatistical analysis of Poseidon Field 3D, located in the navigation basin, on the high seas in western Australia. For this, a wide collection of geological (stratigraphic, structural, lithological) and geophysical data from the study area was carried out, locating the lithology, sedimentary environment and tectonic processes that intervened in the formation of the Basin Browse Basin. This with the objective of having a wider geological panorama of the site and having the basic geophysics tools to understand the procedure that will be performed. The Poseidon Field 3D has 8 wells, of which all are within the seismic cube, for the present work, all the wells of the field were used: Boreas 1, Kronos 1, Poseidon 1, Poseidon 2, Poseidon North 1, Proteus 1 and Torosa1 With the help of field seismic and PETREL ® software, a seismic interpretation was performed, marking the lithological horizons present: Jamieson, Montara, Plover, Nome and Carnian as well as the performance of fault modeling; allowing with both cases the knowledge of structures present in the area. With the use of Interactive Petrophysics software and the geophysical records present in the wells under study, petrophysical interpretation was performed, thereby obtaining various petrophysical properties, such as: lithology, water saturation, oil saturation, permeability, clay content and with this, the location of the pay zones of each formation of the wells under study. Subsequently, and with the collaboration of (S-GeMS) ®, the spatial variation of the parameters (Variograms) of the wells was performed, that is, a geostatistical process was carried out with the objective of generating cubes of petrophysical properties. Finally, the results obtained from each interpretation were unified and a more precise interpretation of each well studied was formed, thus, it was possible to locate the areas with an adequate stratigraphy and of greater economic interest, that is, the pay zones of each geological formation that intervene in the interpreted wells.
