Aprovechamiento del potencial turístico para el desarrollo local: caso del municipio de San Miguel Amatitlán, Oaxaca

Abstract

RESUMEN: En este documento se presenta un análisis sobre las condiciones y potencialidades turísticas del municipio de San Miguel Amatitlán, donde se identificaron diversos elementos que permitieron la elaboración de dos propuestas turísticas que servirán como un referente para los agentes locales, quienes tendrán una opción para aprovechar los recursos existentes en su comunidad y una posibilidad para impulsar el turismo y contribuir al desarrollo local. Así mismo, los resultados de este análisis permitieron identificar diversos obstáculos que se pueden presentar durante el desarrollo de la actividad turística, para contrarrestar esta situación se formularon líneas estratégicas enfocadas a disminuir estas limitantes y contribuir al fortalecimiento de diversos factores que son importantes para impulsar al turismo y el desarrollo local. En este trabajo se utilizaron diversos métodos para evaluar el potencial turístico del municipio, los cuales ayudaron a identificar oportunidades que pueden fortalecer la actividad turística y el de desarrollo local de este lugar. Los modelos de estudio que sobresalen en este documento son: las técnicas para jerarquizar y clasificar los recursos naturales y culturales; el modelo de Hotelling para determinar la demanda potencial; y un sistema de medición que permite evaluar de manera general el potencial turístico, mismo que se representa gráficamente en un mapa de cuadrantes. ABSTRACT: This document presents an analysis of the tourist conditions and potential of the municipality of San Miguel Amatitlán, where various elements were identified that allowed the development of two tourist proposals that will serve as a reference for local agents, who will have an option to take advantage of the existing resources in their community and a possibility to promote tourism and contribute to local development. The study models that stand out in this document are: the techniques to prioritize and classify natural and cultural resources; Hotelling's model to determine potential demand; and a measurement system that allows for a general assessment of tourism potential, which is graphically represented on a quadrant map.
