ABSTRACT: One of the theories of the industrialized world to explain the growth and success of the companies in the local and global markets, is the economy of the knowledge; in this theory the creating intangible elements of value and competitive advantages are identified. As a tool to explain which are those intangible elements, models of intellectual capital in the organizations have been proposed; in this scheme, the capital assumes a new configuration, within which the knowledge is the central element of the value and of the technological, industrial and commercial advantages, with which enterprise superiority is obtained.
With the purpose of observing the magnitude of the application of this theory in the Mexican companies, as well as in the productive sectors, an evaluation is required from the perspective of the economy of the knowledge; the results proves that the microcompanies are just a few, like the ones of majority enterprise units, which use the knowledge and the information to create value.
The intention of this work is to propose a model to introduce the knowledge in the microbusinesses to increase the value of its work. This proposal consists of two parts: The first one is to introduce the knowledge, and the second one is to build the model of intellectual capital by adding commercial issues. According to the theoretical analysis, the knowledge as an asset, provides benefits and advantages for the operation of the companies.
