ABSTRACT:
Introduction. The fiber consumption in the diet has studied in relation to health problems. Its effect on the organs of the digestive system emphasizes the increase fecal skittle and the increase in the peristaltics movements. On the small intestine the fiber is in charge to fix diverse molecules, avoiding or diminishing its absorption. The seed of linseed, Linum usitatissium, contains mucilagos and pectinas, like dietetic fiber components.
Objective. In this work value the effect of the linseed on the structure of the intestinal hairiness.
Material and methods. 22 rates of the Wistar stock were used, of indistinct sex with weight between 100 and 200g; they were divided in two groups: six formed control and 16 the group problem; they were maintained in independent cages, with daily registry of weight and food consumption; during four weeks the animals control received the habitual feeding to free demand and the problem, 25 grams of linseed crushed every day. To finish, the animals were sacrificed under deep anesthesia with ether, by laparotomia obtained the complete small intestine and of this, samples to the 25, 50 and 75 centimeters of the pyloric valve. All the samples were processed by the conventional histologyc method and the cuts colored by topographic techniques. Under the microscope, with an eyeglass micrometer, there was realized the measurement of the length of hairinesses and crypts.
Results and Discussion. Was observed major length of the hairinesses and minor of crypts, in the animals that consumed linseed, in relation to those of the group control. Also an increase observed in the presence of figures of mitosis in the crypts of the animals problem, and major cellular detachment in the apex of the hairinesses. These results show to a possible effect on the renovation of intestinal epithelium that agrees with the greater length of the hairinesses and the shortening of crypts, when increasing the exigency of mature cells that therefore remain smaller time in that site.
Conclusions. The linseed seed produces light and located modifications in the length of the hairinesses and crypts (posterior region) of the mucosa of the small intestine of the rat. The morphologic changes show effects on a major renovation of intestinal epithelium which allows to consider that in posterior studies there should be realized an analysis of the relevancy that this guards in the process of absorption. |
